SNORKEL WITH WHALE SHARK

Is it sure that we see whale sharks?
Yes, we guarantee you will snorkel with the whale shark, in the case of bad conditions we will advise you in adv or if we don't find any we will refund almost all of your money! It only takes one shark.

Where do we go?
Our tour takes you around 5-10 miles north of Isla Contoy. Boat time is around 1hr. the sharks can be found all the way from Contoy as far as Isla Holbox

How many sharks will we see?
On a good day 10, on an excellent day up to 20.

What else can we see?
Manta rays are common in July and August, dolphins too and in the lagoon side of Isla Contoy lots of turtles. Sorry folks, no bull, tiger or hammerhead sharks!

How long is the tour?
The tour starts at 8am leaving Puerto Juarez in Cancun and returns between 2pm-3pm

How long do we get with the sharks?
Around three hours is the norm, this is enough for several swims per person (2 only plus guide) then around midday the sharks go deeper due to the afternoon sun.

How deep is the water, temp and viz?
The snorkeling area is approx 70ft deep, the viz is between 20-30ft due to the plankton and water temp is around 81f, in July and August up to 84f.

The boat?
The boat is an Avanti 34ft speed boat, 500hp, seats 10 passengers and 2 crew. Equipped with stereo, marine head (toilet), comfortable seats, shade, all safety and snorkeling equipment , easy entry to the water and ladder exit. Its very very fast.

What do we bring?
Bring long sleeve t shirt, towel, camera, sunscreen, shorty suit or skin for snorkeling and a hat

Food and drinks?
We provide sandwiches (chicken, tuna, ham & cheese), fresh fruit (grapes, apples & bananas), juices, plenty of cold water, sodas & beers to go with the shrimp cocktail. It's a great day!

Seasickness?
We advise to take a Dramamine or equivalent 45min before departure just in case. The boat is very good through the waves and the summer months are the calmest seas.

Children?
Honestly kids under 10 years old will find it hard to snorkel with the sharks. When the shark is feeding it's almost motionless but sometimes it's a little hard to keep up. We do provide a guide though who swims for you!

Hotel pick up's?
Yep, Cancun pick up's start from 6 45am to 7 20am

Riviera Maya is $15 extra p/p round trip. Akumal 6 00am, playa del Carmen (Cozumel passengers) 6 20am, Puerto Morelos 6 50am etc… specific hotel details will be needed for exact times and please remember this is Mexcio so sometimes we run a little late but you ll never miss the boat!

Reservations?
In advance is better but as late as 36 hours we will secure your spot. Please don't leave it until your last day just in case of bad weather, a back up day is always a good option. 100% payment is needed when making the reservation. If traveling from the Riviera Maya $15 cash must be paid directly to the driver.

Cancelation policy?
Due to bad weather or other reasons re scheduling will be the first option, if the tour does not work out or we are having difficulty finding the sharks we will refund 100%. No show policy is a 100% charge and 36 hours notice is needed if you can't make it.
